Job summary

Four Hands is seeking an Assistant Demand Planner to support forecasting, inventory management, and lifecycle execution for assigned categories. You will analyze historical data, seasonality, and trends to help improve forecast accuracy and product availability, under the guidance of senior planners.

In this role, you will assist with Open-to-Buy planning, monitor KPI performance, and coordinate with Sales and cross-functional partners to ensure timely purchases and stock levels.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of retail planning, buying or equivalent analytical experience (furniture industry experience preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management or Merchandising required.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel with aptitude to learn new systems quickly.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of item- and category-level forecasts using historical performance, seasonality, and trend analysis.
• Support a category portfolio with guidance and oversight from senior planners.

• Support promotional and markdown strategies and product lifecycle planning.
• Assist with PO requests, acknowledgements, and pipeline tracking; report ETA changes to Sales and partners.

The Assistant Demand Planner supports foundational planning responsibilities for assigned categories, building expertise in forecasting, inventory management, and product lifecycle execution under the guidance of senior planners. This role provides data analysis and execution support , while developing the skills to independently manage increasingly complex categories.

In This Role

• Support the development and maintenance of item- and category-level forecasts using historical performance, seasonality, and trend analysis to identify gaps and recommend forecast improvements


• Support a category portfolio with guidance and oversight from senior planners


• Monitor and drive key performance indicator (KPI) success across forecast accuracy, inventory turns, aged inventory, excess inventory, and product availability; execute actions to improve results


• Assist with maintaining the Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans for assigned categories and proactively identify and communicate inventory risks


• Support the execution of promotional and markdown strategies


• Support product lifecycle planning, including end-of-life (EOL) strategies and new product introduction (NPI) forecasting; execute markdowns and exit strategies as needed


• Assist with purchase order requests, acknowledgements, and pipeline tracking while monitoring receipt flow and communicating ETA changes to Sales and cross-functional partners


• Participate in cross-functional planning discussions and initiatives, representing planning priorities and insights for assigned categories


• Maintain reporting accuracy and data integrity; identify and elevate risks, discrepancies, or system issues to senior planners as needed

The Ideal Person
