Job summary

Lacks Valley Stores Ltd is seeking an Assistant Delivery Driver to support the delivery team in safely transporting and installing furniture at customers' homes or businesses. You will assist in loading and unloading, help with furniture assembly as needed, and provide courteous service throughout the delivery process.

You will follow safety procedures, maintain delivery records, obtain signatures, communicate with dispatch, and help keep the delivery vehicle in good condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid TX driver's license required.
• 1 year of furniture delivery experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently; Spanish language skills are a plus.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Delivery Driver is responsible for assisting the delivery driver in safely delivering and installing furniture to customer's homes or businesses. This role will assist in the loading and unloading of furniture from the delivery truck, assembling furniture as needed, and providing excellent customer service during the delivery process.

The essential job functions include the following:

• Ensure that the delivery process is carried out effortlessly to customer locations
• Load and unload furniture from the truck, ensuring that all items are properly secured for transport
• Assemble furniture as needed and ensure that it is installed properly in the customer's home or business
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the delivery process, including answering any questions and addressing any concerns the customer may have
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment
• Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures for proof of delivery
• Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of the delivery truck and equipment as needed
• Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to management in a timely manner
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
• Assist the delivery driver by providing support with the company phone to communicate accurate time frames and directions to customers
• Contact the dispatch office to report delivery status, including completed and incomplete deliveries
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid TX driver's license
• 1 year of experience in furniture delivery or a related field (preferred)
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Basic knowledge of furniture assembly and installation preferred
• Flexible schedule and the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred but not required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to load and unload furniture from the truck
• Ability to work in challenging weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
