Job summary

Milkco Inc. in Bessemer City, NC, is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to oversee deli operations during shifts under the Deli Manager and Store Manager. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction, staff supervision, scheduling, and adherence to food safety standards.

Responsibilities include inventory control, timely deliveries, and maintaining quality products. The ideal candidate has deli experience, with SERV Safe preferred, and is ready to work in a fast-paced environment with growth

Qualifications

• Previous deli experience preferred.
• SERV Safe Certification preferred.
• Able to adapt to changing needs during times of high volume and/or stress.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers receive a positive shopping experience.
• Offer accurate product information and make informed recommendations on deli items.
• Oversee weekly staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Train new staff on procedures, food safety standards, and operations.
• Oversee inventory management to maintain freshness, quality, and proper stock levels while minimizing waste.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and condition; maintain required documentation and reports.
• Ensure pricing accuracy in alignment with margin guidelines and departmental objectives.
• Record and monitor price changes, in-store usage, voids, refunds, and spoilage per company policy.
• Stock, rotate, and display deli products according to quality and compliance standards.
• Monitor temperatures and enforce health and safety regulations.
• Keep work areas clean and organized and cases visually appealing.
• Handle damaged or spoiled goods in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure a safe work environment by addressing hazards promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
