Lexington County School District One is seeking an Assistant Custodian to maintain the campus landscape and cleanliness under the head custodian. The role includes grounds upkeep, building maintenance, and supervising staff as assigned.

Under general supervision of the head custodian, is responsible for the landscape of the institution's campus and maintaining the cleanliness of its facilities. Conducts a wide variety of grounds maintenance, facilities maintenance, and general equipment repair duties. Supervises subordinate housekeeping staff as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities for housekeeping staff as assigned. Responsible for addressing and/or reporting malfunctions in equipment and all safety issues.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Lexington County School District One Board policies. Must be able to access reliable transportation.
Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and activities of the school district which pertain to the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and operations. Ability to demonstrate proper maintenance, safe operation, and utilization of equipment, materials, and supplies used in daily activities. Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in exercising duties. Ability to anticipate work to be completed and to complete work without the need for direct supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and student records and information. Ability to interact and communicate in an effective and professional manner with supervisors, co-workers, teachers, students, and the general public.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision. Occasionally the position requires the employee to work irregular or extended hours. Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors with occasional exposure to discomforting environmental conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, noise, electrical hazards, dusts and wetness. Frequent contact with strong cleaning agents. Moderately heavy physical exertion is frequently required to lift and move objects weighing up to 150 pounds. Mechanical devices should be used for objects weighing over 50 pounds. Routine travel is required; no overnight travel is required.
