Canby High School is seeking an Assistant Cross Country Coach. This non-district funded position is contingent upon fundraised dollars and requires OSAA and district training prior to starting work, including Fundamentals of Coaching and Concussion Training.

The role demands a high school diploma, First Aid/CPR, and the ability to work with students, families, staff, and the public. Fingerprint-based background checks will be arranged if offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of emergency first aid procedures — current First Aid/CPR card required.
• Ability to work successfully with high school students, families, school staff, and the public.
• Ability to meet criminal records requirements of the state of Oregon.
• OSAA and district trainings required prior to starting work: Fundamentals of Coaching, Steroid Awareness, Heat Acclimatization, Concussion Training, and assigned Vector Training courses.
• Applicant agrees to fingerprint-based criminal records check upon offer of employment ($10-$20 at printing; $75 payroll deduction).

Responsibilities

• Assist with coaching and supervising Canby High School cross country athletes.
• Support practice planning, meet day duties, and team supervision.
• Coordinate with the athletic department to ensure safety and compliance.
