Job summary

RLB in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Assistant Cost Manager to oversee independent construction cost control functions, including estimates, value analysis, schedule of values, and change order reviews across multiple projects. Responsibilities

• Prepare construction related cost estimates, cost plans, and cost strategies.
• Change order reviews and valuations of work in progress and bid analyses.
• Prepare studies on value engineering, life cycle costing, and sustainable practices.
• Prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specs, and related docs.
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specs, and related docs.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Present prepared estimates by assembling numerical and descriptive information.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other duties as assigned.

This individual can perform cost control functions on multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously. The Assistant Project Manager should have the ability to identify opportunities within a project that will add value and help successfully accomplish the client’s desired project outcome.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Indoor office environment. May require work on site location when necessary.
