Addison Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead the corporate accounting function in Falls Church, VA. This role oversees accounting managers, drives monthly close, internal controls, audits, consolidations, and process improvements, while ensuring accurate U.S.

GAAP financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on leadership, strong technical accounting knowledge, and experience in a complex multi-entity environment, including ERP implementations and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Seven+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least three years of experience directly managing accounting professionals.
• Public accounting experience, Big Four preferred.
• Experience with multi‑entity consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• SOX/audit-readiness or similar internal controls experience preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in Falls Church four days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop multiple accounting managers and their teams.
• Provide oversight for day-to-day corporate accounting activities.
• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage close calendars, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Analyze monthly results and respond to leadership inquiries.
• Review GL activity, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Ensure reporting complies with U.S. GAAP and policies.
• Support preparation of audited financial statements and external audits.
• Coordinate external audit requests and samples.
• Prepare accounting memoranda and documentation.
• Assist with year-end tie-outs and auditor comments.
• Manage intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.
• Support ERP implementation and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate.
