Job summary

SummitTX Capital, L.P. is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead fund accounting for the SummitTX funds.

The role reports to the Head of Accounting and will supervise junior staff, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables across NAV, valuations, and investor statements. Based in New York, NY or Fort Worth, TX (Hybrid), the position collaborates with corporate accounting, operations, marketing, compliance and legal, and coordinates with external administrators and auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; a Master in Accountancy a plus.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience including hedge fund or fund administrator exposure.
• Strong US GAAP Financial Statement experience required.
• CPA Certification required.
• Hedge fund experience preferred; familiarity with master-feeder structures and complex fee/allocation arrangements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the review of fund NAV deliverables — including daily estimates, investment valuation, and investor statements.
• Lead and oversee day-to-day fund accounting operations, including shadow accounting, expense processing, and general ledger activity.
• Provide day-to-day task direction and technical review for Fund Accounting junior team members.
• Review and approve calculations of complex management, incentive/performance fees, and allocations across multiple relationships.
• Serve as a key contact for external service providers (fund administrator, auditors, tax preparers, compliance consultants).
• Manage the annual external audit process end-to-end, coordinating PBC requests and auditor inquiries.
• Manage the tax compliance process for the funds, coordinating with external tax preparers on K-1s and offshore reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on workflows and initiatives.
• Monitor ongoing compliance with governing documents and investment management agreements.
• Identify and help implement process improvements and system enhancements.
