Job summary

Terabase Energy, Inc. in Berkeley, CA, is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee our global accounting operations, strengthen controls, and scale processes for a high-growth solar business.

You will lead the accounting team, drive US GAAP compliance, manage cost and manufacturing accounting, consolidate financial reporting, and partner with FP&A, Operations, and Engineering to enable transparency and performance across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Active or inactive CPA credential.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including cost or manufacturing accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, consolidated financial reporting, and multi-entity accounting.
• Experience operating in international or multi-jurisdictional environments.
• Prior experience with NetSuite.
• Previous audit experience (public accounting or internal audit).
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Oversee GL integrity, reconciliations, and policy adherence.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
• Assist in budgets, forecasts, and management reporting; monitor variances.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, BOM reviews, and margins.
• Provide financial insight on cost drivers and efficiency initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls and oversee external audits.
• Coordinate tax filings in multiple jurisdictions and contract sales tax.
