Job summary

Atlantic Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller - Fund Accounting to join its finance and accounting team in New York City. This role focuses on fund accounting, valuations, and financial reporting across private funds and co-investment vehicles.

You will collaborate with senior finance leadership and third-party administrators to ensure accurate reporting and smooth fund operations. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 5-7+ years in public or private fund accounting,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in public accounting and/or private fund accounting (private equity or alternatives).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Creative thinker with a drive for process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key liaison with third-party fund administrators, managing deliverables and timelines.
  • Review fund books and records, including financial statements, supporting schedules, and investor reporting.
  • Oversee capital activity: capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations.
  • Review and approve management fees, expenses, and waterfall calculations in accordance with governing documents.
  • Coordinate quarterly, annual, and ad hoc investor reporting, including audits and tax deliverables.
  • Support fund valuations by analyzing portfolio data and participating in quarterly valuation processes.
  • Partner with investor relations to support fundraising and ongoing investor inquiries.
  • Assist in developing internal reporting, forecasting tools, and senior management analytics.
  • Help build and refine operational infrastructure, internal policies, procedures, and technology platforms.

Job description

A growing alternative investment firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller - Fund Accounting to join its finance and accounting team. This role, will report to senior finance leadership and focus on fund accounting, valuations, and financial reporting across private funds and co-investment vehicles.

Compensation

$130,000-$170,000 base salary + bonus

Location

New York City - Hybrid Schedule
