Role Overview
TheAssistant Controller will support the Corporate Controller by focusing onchange management in accounting and finance driven by ERP migrations, plannedacquisitions, and other strategic initiatives. This role will manage day-to-dayaccounting operations across multiple subsidiaries with emphasis on executingand providing oversight for revenue recognition, process automation, and AIstrategy, ensuring changes are made in a controlled manner and deliveringbest-in-class accounting support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute revenuerecognition activities across Zeus, including percentage-of-completion(POC) accounting for project-based work and leased equipment accounting.
- Oversee system-driven andmanual month-end revenue close processes, drive improvements in speed,accuracy, and automation.
- Own interim POC accountingprocesses for new acquisitions and support M&A accounting andintegration tasks.
- Partner with regional/hubcontrollers and operations on job costing, project setup, billing, changeorders, and balance-of-contract billing/cancellations.
- Review and approve new productand significant project setups (including intercompany and revenue-sharingstructures).
- Develop and maintain revenuerecognition policies and procedures as product offerings and systemsevolve; prepare ASC 606 disclosures and related financial statementreporting.
- Manage general ledgeraccounting, month-end close, and consolidated financial statementpreparation across multiple subsidiaries; ensure US GAAP compliance.
- Oversee key financial processesand internal controls governing cash management, AR/AP, inventory,accruals, project reporting, and deferred revenue.
- Monitor and drive action basedon daily operational metrics that impact financial results and revenuerecognition.
- Manage interactions withexternal auditors on revenue accounting and related matters, supportannual audits, tax filings, and other accounting projects.
- Supervise, mentor, and developaccounting staff; foster a best-in-class accounting function.
- Drive adoption of processautomation and AI tools to eliminate manual work, improve auditability,and increase team capacity.
- Perform other Controllerfunctions as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree inaccounting, finance, or related field required. CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years ofaccounting/finance experience, including at least 5 years in a managementor supervisory role.
- Deep technical knowledge of USGAAP with specific expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606),percentage-of-completion for construction contracts, lease accounting, andbusiness combination accounting.
- Strong Order-to-Cash(Quote-to-Cash) expertise and proven experience improving O2C processes.
- ERP implementation experienceis a plus.
- Demonstrated experience withprocess automation and using AI/automation tools to modernize accountingoperations.
- Experience managing externalauditors and operating within rigorous internal controls / SOX-likeenvironments.
- Excellent analytical,problem-solving, and communication skills; able to present financialresults clearly to senior leadership.
- Track record of influencingcross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization and leading teamsthrough change.
