Job summary

Elite Placement Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the financial and accounting operations of a construction-focused organization. The role emphasizes job costing, WIP reporting, and project profitability, with close collaboration between finance and operations.

Responsibilities include overseeing job costing, cost-code allocations, and project financial reporting, along with assisting with month-end close, GL reconciliations, and financial statement

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting.
• Experience with Sage 300 or a comparable construction ERP system preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and knowledge of general ledger, AP, AR, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

We're seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the financial and accounting operations of an established construction organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee job costing, cost-code allocations, and project financial reporting.
• Assist with monthly WIP reporting and percentage-of-completion accounting.
• Analyze project costs, budget variances, and profitability.
• Support month-end and year-end close, general ledger reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, progress billings, and retainage.
• Partner with Project Managers and senior leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and project cost controls.
• Generate financial and management reports and assist with ERP system accuracy.

Qualifications:

• 3-7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
