Job summary

Lactalis USA is seeking an Assistant Logistics Controller to support the financial operations of our logistics organization. You will help maintain accurate financial records, support monthly close activities, and provide meaningful analysis to drive informed decisions.

Key responsibilities include accounting for the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and collaborating with auditors and cross-functional teams to ensure internal controls and GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 4+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly close process, owning assigned accounts and related reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger for the logistics department and ensure accounting accuracy.
• Prepare monthly and year-to-date internal financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze logistics expenses and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting activities.
• Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal financial controls.
• Assist with interim and year-end audits and coordinate requests between departments and auditors.

The Opportunity

Lactalis USA is seeking an Assistant Logistics Controller to support the financial operations of our logistics organization. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly close activities, managing reporting and analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Success in this position means delivering reliable financial insights that help drive informed business decisions and operational excellence.

• Support the timely and accurate completion of monthly financial close activities.
• Deliver meaningful financial analysis, variance reporting, and account reconciliations that improve visibility into logistics performance.
• Help ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal control requirements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams and auditors to support successful audits, budgeting, and reporting processes.

From Your EXPERTISE to Ours

What You’ll Be Doing

• Participate in the monthly close process, including ownership of assigned accounts, analyses, and related reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger for the logistics department and ensure accounting accuracy.
• Prepare monthly and year-to-date internal financial statements and management reports.
• Complete and review account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Analyze logistics expenses and support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting activities.
• Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal financial controls.
• Assist with interim and year-end audits and coordinate requests between departments and auditors.
• Lead, coach, and support logistics accounting team members, including hiring, training, performance management, and employee development.
• Contribute to special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other business priorities as assigned.
• Work in accordance with Lactalis’ Hybrid Work Policy and support a safe, healthy, and productive work environment.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 4+ years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience working with ERP systems, such as SAP.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across departments.
• Commitment to professional ethics, integrity, and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
• CPA or CMA certification.
