Job summary

Doppelmayr USA, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to support planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from inception to completion.

The role emphasizes safety, schedule adherence, budget control, and quality conformance in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a degree in construction management or engineering (or equivalent experience) and strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, blueprint reading, and communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, or 5 years of practical construction experience.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and project management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
  • OSHA certification is a plus.
  • Ability to navigate construction sites in mountainous terrain in all types of weather.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in day-to-day management of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
  • Assist in determining needed resources (manpower, equipment, tools, materials) with budget awareness.
  • Ensure safety standards and guidelines are followed on the jobsite and all safety codes are met.
  • Oversee assigned sites, general contractors, subcontractors and workers to ensure quality and safety.
  • Plan construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are met per timelines.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contracts for compliance.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify quality and safety.
  • Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, and budget management.
  • Identify potential project risks and collaborate on mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and company policies.
  • Facilitate communication between project stakeholders (clients, architects, engineers, contractors).
  • Ensure projects are constructed and documented per contract documents and company standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Support project closeout activities (punch lists, final inspections, documentation turnover).

The Assistant Construction Manager supports the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from inception through completion. This role helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
