Jennings H. Mitchell & Son, Inc. in the Baltimore area seeks an Assistant Construction Foreman to help lead commercial drywall and framing crews across Maryland, DC, and Pennsylvania.

This hands-on leadership role supports foremen, emphasizes safety, and drives on-time project milestones with quality workmanship. You will supervise daily field operations, assign tasks, maintain detailed progress reports, track materials, and coordinate deliveries while collaborating with contractors and client

Competenze

• 2 years of commercial construction experience focused on metal framing, drywall hanging, and surface finishing.
• Proven ability to read and interpret commercial architectural blueprints, structural drawings, and project schedules.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license alongside reliable personal transportation for visiting project sites.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the composure to manage fast-paced, multi-tasking project environments.

Job Overview

• Salary/Pay Rate: $32-36 per hour, based on experience
• Location: Baltimore, MD area (Projects throughout MD, DC, and PA)
• Job/Employment Type: Full Time (40 hours per week plus overtime opportunities)
• Project Scope: Commercial Metal Framing, Drywall, and Acoustical Ceiling Systems
• Mandatory Licences & Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License

The Opportunity

Step into an essential leadership support role managing high-volume commercial drywall and framing operations across the region. Working alongside experienced Foremen, you will supervise field crews, drive jobsite safety, and ensure project milestones are delivered with quality and precision. Required Qualifications & Experience

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Prior supervisory or lead experience guiding field crews on commercial jobsites.
• Technical familiarity with doors, frames, FRP installation, and acoustical ceiling systems.
• Experience using construction software and document management applications such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or PDF tools.
• Willingness to travel and work on intermittent out-of-territory project assignments as needed.
