Sign‑on bonus: $500 after 90 days of successful, continuous employment and another $500 after six months of successful, continuous employment.
Primary Purpose
Assists the group home managers in running and maintaining group homes and manages in the absence of any of the managers.
Responsibilities
- Maintains established division policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Guards the confidentiality of client information from both outside persons and Archway Program employees that do not require this information to perform their job duties.
- Provide culturally sensitive services that are based on knowledge of cultural diversity to accomplish quality client care.
- Customer Service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience, and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Archway Programs standards.
- Cooperate fully with Archway Programs, Department of Human Services, and Division of Developmental Disabilities representatives in any and all inspections and/or investigations.
- Assist in planning weekly schedules for staff.
- Assist in developing, updating, monitoring, implementing and evaluating IHP.
- Actively participate, cooperate and comply with Archway Quality Assurance Policy and Procedures.
- Actively work to maintain compliance with Licensing standards, DDD Policy and Procedures and Archway Policy and Procedure.
- Assist in planning consumer shopping trips.
- Assist in planning recreational activities.
- Run weekly consumer meetings.
- Assist in consumer fund management.
- Support group home manager at all times in all phases of supervision, when necessary.
- Ensure that daily chores are performed by residents and staff.
- Perform any and all other assigned duties.
- Be on‑call as required and assigned by the GH Manager or GH Coordinator.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of residential or health care experience, or one year working with developmentally disabled.
- Valid driver’s license, if vehicle operation is necessary.
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.

- Clean driving record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Skilled at crisis intervention/prevention.
- Knowledge of Archway Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure, DDD Policy and Procedures, behavior modification techniques, Licensing Standards, and Human Resource/Employee Relation Issues.
- CPR, FA, and DDD pre‑service within 90 days of hire.
- Any and all other trainings/in‑services as assigned by Archway Programs.
Supervision and Contacts
Jointly responsible for supervising 8–15 employees, along with the Group Home Manager.
Internal contacts: all group home staff, group home manager, program director, administrative staff, consumers.
External contacts: doctors, other human service agencies, parents, and vendors.
Physical and Sensory Demands
- Physical activity: sitting 35%, standing 35%, other (bending) 30%.
- Physical effort: lifting 15%, carrying 15%, pushing/pulling 15%, other (reaching) 55%.
- Sensory effort: visual 25%, hearing 25%, speaking 25%, other (touching) 25%.
Travel
Varies – employees help consumers with every aspect of daily living. Travel may include doctor’s appointments, shopping, workshops, occasional trips, etc.
Equipment
- Typewriter, telephone, computer, photocopier, fax, and other listed equipment.
Additional Requirements
Employee must obtain and provide certification of pre‑employment physical and mantoux test at their own expense with verification of freedom from restrictions that would impair job performance and freedom from tuberculosis. Physical and mantoux must be completed annually thereafter at the employee’s expense.
Working Conditions and Hazards
Normal house environment. Normal household hazards; consumers may at times become verbally or physically abusive; driving hazards.

Employees may also be responsible for assisting consumers in walking, wheelchair handling, and bathing.
