Job summary

Garrard County Schools is seeking a 2nd Assistant Band Director to support coaches in daily and long-range athletic activities and assist in planning the athletic program. You will conduct learning experiences under head coaches with small groups of student athletes, and help foster a harmonious team spirit across activities.

The role requires coaching certification, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to supervise participants during travel while adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Coaching certification and CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaches in daily and long-range athletic activities.
• Assist in planning the athletic program.
• Lead learning experiences under the direction of head coaches with student athletes.
• Assist in guiding participants toward a harmonious team spirit.
• Escort and supervise athletes during periods of team travel.
• Recommend to the head coach the purchase of equipment for health, safety, and welfare of student athletes.
• Perform other non-coaching duties assigned by the principal, athletic director, or head coach.
