West Virginia K-12 Jobs is seeking an Assistant Coach Softball at Braxton County High School to support the head coach and athletic staff in developing players and coordinating practices.

The position requires adherence to WVBOE and WVSSAC policies, a background check, and a commitment to positive student outcomes. The role reports to Building Principal/Head Coach/AD and participates in league activities and game preparation.

  • Develops rapport with coaching staff within the school.
  • Organizes coaching staff if head coach; assists Head Coach if assistant.
  • Develops positive relationships with student body, faculty, parents and community.
  • Attends league, conference, and WVSSAC meetings.
  • Motivates staff and players toward goals; maintains professional conduct.
  • Designs quality practice sessions and pre-season planning.
  • Supervises managers and other staff and follows purchasing procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Meet the qualifications outlined in WVBOE and WVSSAC Policy

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Cooperates with building principal.

  • Attends league, conference, and WVSSAC meetings.
  • Participates in activities that foster professional growth and development.
  • Motivates staff and players toward desired goals, and commands respect by example in appearance, manners, behavior, and language.
  • Develops a high caliber and quality instruction.
  • Manages athletic injuries.
  • Cares for equipment.
  • Supervises participants and disciplines team appropriately.
  • Designs quality organization of practice sessions.
  • Designs pre-season planning.
  • Supervises managers and other support personnel.
  • Follows purchasing procedures.
  • Initiates game organizational skills.
  • Follows board of education, league, conference, and WVSSAC policies.
  • Devotes time and energy to coaching duties.
  • Follows end of season procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT
