Job summary

Ohio Northern University is seeking an Assistant Bowling Coach to work with the Head Coach in supporting daily operations, development, and success of the college bowling program. You will assist with coaching, player development, recruiting, team activities, and tournament preparation to foster a positive and competitive team environment.

The role emphasizes coaching, team coordination, equipment management, and mentorship of student-athletes while contributing to academic and athletic growth

Qualifications

  • Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
  • USBC Silver certification/training preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of bowling fundamentals, equipment, and competitive strategy.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and conducting team practices, workouts, and competitions.
  • Provide coaching, instruction, and feedback to student-athletes.
  • Assist with player development, video analysis, lane-play strategy, and game adjustments.
  • Help identify, communicate with, and recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Travel with the team to tournaments and assist with tournament preparation and coaching.
  • Help manage team bowling equipment, including ball maintenance and preparation.
  • Assist with team communication, team events, fundraising, and other program activities.
  • Promote a positive, competitive, and team-oriented environment.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.
  • Support the academic, athletic, and personal development of team members.
  • Work closely with the Head Coach to help achieve the goals and vision of the bowling program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
