Job summary

Southampton Union Free School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for Junior Varsity Football at Southampton High School. The role focuses on assisting the Head Coach to develop a competitive program, foster sportsmanship, and oversee practices and games under NYSPHSAA regulations.

The incumbent will mentor high school athletes, help with equipment, ensure safety, and support the athletic department as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of American football and how to coach players at the high school level.
• Current CPR and AED certification is required.
• Previous coaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to mentor and supervise high school student-athletes effectively.
• Must meet New York State coaching certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting practices.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive character development.
• Assist with equipment management and maintaining a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head Coach or Athletic Director.

The Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in developing a competitive and positive junior varsity football program while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development.
