Job summary

U.S. Biathlon Team in Lake Placid, NY is seeking an Assistant Coach to support a professional training environment for Senior, Development, and Junior athletes. Reporting to the High Performance Director, you will collect data, design training sessions, coordinate logistics, communicate with athletes, and provide daily motivation in a high‑performing team.

This is a 6‑month position (June 1–November 30). Required: 2–3 years coaching experience; Excel/data skills; willingness to work outdoors;

Qualifications

• 2–3 years coaching experience required.
• Excel and data management skills.
• Willingness to work in outdoor training environments.
• Ability to communicate with developing athletes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support quality training sessions during summer and autumn months.
• Communicate with athletes and staff weekly on training logistics and goals.
• Coach ski technique, strength training, and dry fire sessions with athletes.
• Maintain shooting range training facility and testing supplies.
• Daily on-the-ground decision making with athletes and provide feedback.
• Organize transportation and schedule bookings with local venues for weekly training.
• Training data entry, tracking, and analysis.
