Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking an Assistant Coach, Baseball (Part-Time) to assist the Head Coach with daily operations, practice planning, and recruiting efforts for the NCAA program.

You will help mentor student-athletes and support their academic and athletic development while upholding values of excellence, integrity, sportsmanship and inclusion within the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year collegiate coaching or playing experience.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Head Coach in developing, implementing, and executing all aspects of the sport program, including training plans, competitive strategies, and student-athlete development initiatives.
• Collaborates with the Head Coach to identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain qualified student-athletes who demonstrate strong academic performance, athletic ability, and character.
• Contributes to a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture by promoting sportsmanship, leadership, accountability, and holistic student-athlete well-being.
• Assists with day-to-day program operations, including travel coordination, equipment procurement and maintenance, and scheduling of practices and competitions to ensure efficient program functioning.
• Supports compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and standards, serves as a mentor and advocate for student-athletes, and promotes alignment with the university’s mission, values, and strategic goals.

Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
