Job summary

Sheridan Grove Recovery seeks an Assistant Clinical Director to oversee clinical staff, supervise therapists, and ensure treatment plans align with regulatory standards. You will monitor patient care, coordinate services, and contribute to program development in a busy addiction treatment facility.

Requirements include a Master’s degree, 5+ years in chemical dependency settings, and active licensure or supervision eligibility. Strong leadership and commitment to recovery are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold at least a Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or equivalent field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical role within Chemical Dependency field.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and accreditation process strongly preferred.
  • Must be committed to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use.
  • Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly prefer.
  • Leaders in active recovery must possess a minimum of 2 years of sobriety.

Responsibilities

  • Work the floor and cover shifts for clinical call outs, as well as oversee a staff of individual and/or group therapy addiction therapists
  • Meet with addiction therapists to provide clinical supervision (if independently licensed)
  • Assess patient symptoms regularly, report condition changes to physician if change in treatment plan may be necessary
  • Assist in overseeing and actively improving fitness, enrichment, chapel and/or other ancillary programs designed to complement Clinical Treatment Protocol
  • Lead group therapy as necessary in absence of available Group Therapist
  • Have the ability to be on call at least 5 days a week for at least 12 hours per day
  • Perform managerial duties as assigned by the Clinical Director such as compliance, audits, and staff training.
  • Assist or lead patient intake process as needed
  • Oversee all clinical staff including hiring, training, and termination in the absence of the Clinical Director
  • Assist in coordinating all outside speakers and guest lecturers included in Treatment Protocol
  • Assist in reviewing Biopsychosocial Evaluations and Individualized Treatment Plans
  • Participate in weekly Treatment Team meetings to evaluate progress of all patients and makes recommendations for adjustments to Treatment Plan
  • Serve as “Manager on Call” periodically as assigned by Administrator
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; coaching and motivating the clinical team in the absence of the Clinical Director
  • Appraise performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in the absence of the Clinical Director
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by supervisor

Education

Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or equivalent
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a clinical role in Chemical Dependency

OVERVIEW

The Assistant Clinical Director assists in the execution of the clinical and counseling services for patients of the facility, using resources effectively and efficiently to attain and maintain the highest level of care in accordance with regulatory standards. He/she monitors patients at all times, ensuring safety and compliance with treatment protocols. He/she also performs a vital function in aiding clients on their road to recovery as needed.

  • Maintain composure under high stress situations
Language, Math and Reasoning
  • Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING
