Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to work under a licensed professional engineer on critical electric infrastructure projects in the Northeast. You will assist throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans to budget and client needs.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree (ABET preferred), internship experience, strong communication and analytical skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office. EIT is a plus; 3.0 GPA preferred.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited civil engineering program preferred.
• Internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in problem solving.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assist in civil design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assist in site access design, grading, earthwork modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.
• Assist in soil erosion, sediment control and stormwater management design per guidelines.
