Overview
To assist the Director, Engineering/City Engineer in the administration and supervision of the planning, organizing, direction and management of the City'sengineering and right-of-way management.This position is responsible for all Engineering related code functions in the absence of the City Engineer.

Under the general direction of and responsible to the City Engineer. This is a supervisory position. Assigns, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of all personnel assigned to the Engineering divisions for which the incumbent has primary management responsibility.Responsible for all departmental personnel in the absence of the City Engineer.
Physical Requirements
This is light work requiring the exertion of 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently.The work requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and for reviewing, checking, preparing and maintaining written and computer files.Incumbent is required to have sufficient hearing ability to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment in performance of duties.

Public contact is an essential feature of this job.Incumbent has extensive, diverse contacts with the general public, contractors and officials of state and local government agencies.
