The City of Galveston seeks a qualified attorney to provide a range of legal services under the City Attorney, including litigation in municipal court and matters involving civil service. Work is performed with general discretion, based on broad goals and policies.
Responsibilities include representing the City in court, advising elected officials, drafting ordinances and contracts, conducting legal research, and attending City Council meetings.

Under the direction of the City Attorney, assist in providing a variety of legal services including litigation. Work is performed with general discretion, working from broad goals and policies.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Possession of a Texas Driver’s license.
Work is performed in a standard office environment. May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
