Job summary

GoJet Airlines seeks an experienced safety-focused pilot leader to oversee flight operations and support the SMS program. You will ensure regulatory alignment, keep crewmembers informed, and maintain line qualification across the operation.

Responsibilities include acting for the Chief Pilot when needed, applying SMS and Safety Risk Management, and prioritizing safety in all decisions while promoting customer-focused operations.

Qualifications

• ATP certificate (unrestricted) with ratings for at least one GoJet-operated aircraft.
• Rated in at least one GoJet aircraft type and able to maintain Line Qualification.
• Thorough understanding of aviation safety standards and applicable CFRs.

Your mission

Lead safe, secure, and compliant flight operations while supporting and integrating GoJet’s SMS. You’ll keep flight crewmembers informed and current, maintain regulatory alignment, and help ensure pilot technical competence and line qualification across the operation.

What you'll do

• Act for the Chief Pilot when absent; complete interdepartmental procedures requiring Chief Pilot involvement.
• Make safety and security the first considerations in every operational decision; promote safety as a core value.
• Implement, maintain, develop, and integrate the company’s Safety Management System; perform assigned SMS Facilitator duties.
• Apply Safety Risk Management when implementing new systems, revising existing systems, and developing operational procedures.
• Identify hazards and assess the effectiveness of risk controls through the Safety Assurance process.
• Ensure flight operations comply with applicable parts of 14 CFR, Transportation Security Regulations TSR, and company policies and procedures.
• Keep regulations, the Airman’s Information Manual, Operations Bulletins, Read Files, and related materials current with the Chief Pilot; ensure timely distribution to flight crewmembers.
• Help ensure every crewmember uses the approved company Weight/Balance Program for revenue flights.
• Promote a strong customer focus—reinforcing attentiveness to customer requirements across all pilot groups.
• Manage assigned Q-Pulse stages and action items in accordance with 14 CFR Part 5 and the SMS Framework within required timeframes.

What you bring

• Airline Transport Pilot certificate (ATP), unrestricted, with appropriate ratings for at least one aircraft used in GoJet’s operation.
• Rated in at least one aircraft type operated by GoJet and, as duties permit, able to maintain Line Qualification status.
• Qualification through training, experience, and expertise to discharge duties in accordance with legal and company requirements while ensuring safe operations.
• Thorough understanding of aviation safety standards, safe operating practices, 14 CFR Chapter I, the certificate holder’s operations specifications, and applicable maintenance/airworthiness requirements under 14 CFR Parts 1, 21, 23, 25, 43, 45, 47, 65, 91, and 121, including manuals required by 14 CFR 121.133.
• Clear, timely communication and collaborative leadership across departments in a dynamic, operational environment.

Ongoing proficiency

• Maintain continued technical competence, including completion of the ground-training portion of Continuing Qualification in accordance with AQPTM 8-1.2.C.1.
• Attend industry meetings and network with other airline officials as duties allow to benchmark and share best practices.
