The Library of Congress seeks a senior librarian to lead the Music Division’s custody and service of its music, theater and dance collections, including rare materials, manuscripts, and digital formats. The position reports to the Chief of the Music Division in Washington, DC.
The incumbent will supervise all division activities, directing acquisition, processing, reference services, bibliographic access, digital projects and administration. An MLIS or equivalent degree is strongly encouraged.
The position reports to the Chief of the Music Division and is responsible for the custody and service of the Library's collections of music, theater and dance, including rare materials, manuscripts, microfilms, serials, librettos, music in digital formats, and prints, photographs, musical instruments, and other works of musical iconography. Under the Chief, the incumbent supervises and manages all activities of the Division, including the acquisition and processing of collections, reference services, bibliographic access, digital projects, and administration.
