How You’ll Contribute

The Assistant Chief Financial Officer develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

Other Duties Include

• Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
• Administers the general accounting, patient business services, including third‑party reimbursement, financial, and statistical reporting functions of the hospital in accordance with established policies and accounting procedures.
• Provides informal direction in data processing, distributed systems, material management and medical records functions.
• Assures the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and assures that the reports reliably reflect the financial position of the hospital.
• Directs the preparation of internal financial reports including work papers for annual financial audit.
• Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
• Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or Master’s degree strongly preferred.

Licenses

CPA preferred.
