Job summary

Cash-Wa Distributing seeks a Purchasing Assistant to support daily purchasing activities, analyze vendors and marketing, and report to the Lead Buyer at the local location. The role offers an entry-level path with potential to grow into a Buyer position for someone with relevant experience.

Typical duties include inventory analysis, PO creation, vendor communications, and coordination with Sales to source products for customers. Strong computer and analytic skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Outlook/Excel/Word; ability to learn Clarity Purchasing software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Attention to detail and process orientation required.
• Effective phone and email communication skills are necessary.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory levels to determine stock needs.
• Utilize Clarity Purchasing to maintain and replenish stock.
• Create purchase orders based on inventory stock.
• Send purchase orders to vendors per vendor requirements.
• Reconcile vendor confirmations with POs for pricing and delivery.
• Adjust base cost in system to reflect PO costs.
• Reconcile vendor invoices for pricing and discounts.
• Review inventory for slow or dead stock.
• Collaborate with Sales to source products and assist customers.

Job description

This is a great entry level position with growth opportunity or can start as a Buyer position for someone with relevant experience! If you are adaptable and looking to grow with the company and improve processes, you need to join our team!

Position Summary:

The Purchasing Assistant provides support in all areas of the purchasing department. This will include daily purchasing duties and vendor and marketing analysis. The Assistant Buyer will report to the Lead Buyer for that location.

Work Schedule:

• Must be able to work Monday - Friday, regular daytime hours

Wage:

$20-$23, depending on experience

Job Duties:

• Analyze inventory levels to determine stock needs.
• Utilize the Clarity Purchasing system to maintain and replenish stock.
• Create purchase orders as needed by inventory stock levels.
• Send purchase orders to respective vendors via the preferred method required by that vendor.
• Reconcile vendor confirmation with purchase order to verify pricing and delivery period.
• Change the base cost in the system to accurately reflect the purchase order cost.
• Reconcile the vendor's invoice(s) in order to guarantee correct pricing and proper discounting.
• Review inventory to identify slow or dead stock.
• Work with Sales to source products and find the best possible solutions for our customers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

• Strong computer skills are essential: Outlook/Excel/Word familiarity is desirable. Ability to learn and be proficient with Clarity Purchasing software is a must.
• Problem solving and strong analytical skills is essential
• Attention to detail and being process oriented is essential
• Communicate effectively and professionally via phone and email required
• Self-motivated; performs duties and stays on track with minimal direction

Education & Experience:

• Buying experience and/or education preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Physical exertion as typically seen in office settings.
