Claire’s is being remade as a modern playground for girlhood, designed for Gen Alpha girls across the U.S. and Canada. While so many brands are trying to pull her toward what’s next, Claire’s is built around who she is right now—a place where she can explore, make choices, and build confidence. Claire’s has pierced more than 131 million customers, and for many girls, it is the first store where they spend their own money on something they chose for themselves. Our strategy is to build the products, experiences, and stores around those choices, giving her reasons to come back at every stage of girlhood. That work is happening now across piercing and jewelry, beauty, accessories, and toys. The Assistant Buyer is involved from the very beginning. You’ll follow product from first sample to store, sit in the room where the assortment is shaped, and look at the weekly data to understand what she picked up, what she passed on, and why. Your decisions reach 900 stores and you can walk into one and see your work come to life on the sales floor. In your first year, success means becoming the person in the room who knows your product area better than anyone else and turns weekly reads into actions the team can use. From there, your ownership grows—from the size of the business you manage to the decisions you make independently. Every merchant is reviewed twice a year on performance and potential, with development plans tied directly to what’s required for the next level.
