Job summary

FourLeaf Federal Credit Union is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager in New York to oversee daily branch operations, guide a supervisory team, and drive member and employee experiences. The role requires strong leadership in an agile environment, effective decision making, and a focus on accurate transaction processing while managing change and CRISIS situations.

You will coach supervisors, build bench strength, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of financial or equivalent sales and service experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory and leadership experience.
  • 3-5 years of credit or lending experience.
  • Medallion Signature Guarantor Certification within 3 months.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System License within 3 months.
  • NYS Notary License within 6 months.

What You’ll Do

The Assistant Branch Manager contributes to the success of the branch through collaboration in overseeing the branch operations ensuring alignment to corporate strategies and objectives while demonstrating effective leadership. Lead and manage change in an agile environment, sound decision making, problem resolution, and crisis management. Model behaviors that create a work environment that ensures exceptional employee and member experiences. The expectation is to effectively develop supervisors to lead teammates in delivering exceptional member experiences, foster long lasting relationships, use financial knowledge to offer thoughtful solutions to address member needs and process transactions accurately and efficiently. Monday to Saturday availability required.

  • Operations
    • Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch.
    • Collaborate with the supervisory team to continuously develop a consultative sales approach for the team to identify sales opportunities.
    • Ensure the team can effectively process transactions by utilizing FourLeaf systems in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of operational procedures and policies to be able to assist with complex tasks and situations.
    • Provide direction and guidance in overseeing the supervisory team to make sound decisions and develop their direct reports.
    • Act as the lead supervisor when the Branch Manager is not present.
  • Employee Experience
    • Build strong relationships with all teammates and consistently works to create a positive, inclusive work environment where all employees feel engaged and valued.
    • Collaborate with the supervisory team to effectively recruit, hire, and onboard new employees.
    • Transfer learning to the team through direct development or leveraging other training/development opportunities available.
    • Lead the coaching and career development conversations with direct reports on a consistent basis and ensure that this is in place for the supervisor’s direct reports. This may include overseeing observations, documented coaching conversations, creating development plans, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary actions as needed.
    • Work with manager to identify high potential employees and create career development plans and succession planning for the branch and organization.
  • Member Experience
    • Identify trends through daily observations and member surveys data to create and implement action plans for the team to provide improved member experience.
    • Ability to de-escalate heightened member situations with emphasis on problem solving and service recovery. Provide support and guidance to supervisors to do the same.
    • Work with the supervisory team to develop teammates to provide exceptional member experiences by cultivating relationships, identifying member needs to make beneficial recommendations and warm transfers to branch representatives or business partners.
    • Ensure that the team strengthens their ability to communicate with members to share knowledge and information.
    • Contribute to the management of the branch traffic flow with lobby management. This includes managing branch scheduling, lobby tracking, appointment assignments, and at times assisting to ensure that the teller and drive-up traffic are managed with limited wait times.
  • Compliance
    • Collaborate with the supervisory team in maintaining branch controls. This includes, but is not limited to branch self-audits, reconciliations, daily proof, daily reports, verifying currency, balancing individual cash box/cash recyclers (TCR), CTR’s and SAR’s.
    • Stays abreast and adheres to policies, procedures, and banking regulations.
    • Identifies and manages emerging risks and fraud trends to minimize exposure to members and FourLeaf.
    • Complies with all aspects of Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Asset Control.
  • Strategy
    • Participate in the overall success of the branch, Retail Banking and organizational goals by meeting or exceeding assigned performance goals and metrics.
    • Collaborate with the supervisory team to create, implement, and manage strategies.
    • Consistent analysis of branch production reports and activities to identify areas of opportunity.
    • Supports promotions and business development efforts through in-branch contests, sales promotions, and marketing campaigns. Participates in community events and business organizations.
Assets You Will Bring
  • College degree preferred or related work experience.
  • 3+ years of financial or equivalent sales and service experience.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory and leadership experience.
  • 3-5 years of credit or lending experience.
  • Medallion Signature Guarantor Certification within 3 months.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System License within 3 months.
  • NYS Notary License within 6 months.
  • PC, Windows, and Internet proficiency.
  • High emotional intelligence, decision-making, excellent communication, relationship building, change management, time management, supervisor employee and member experience skills.

The estimated salary for this role is $66,420 to $79,704 annually.
