Job summary

Maize South High School is seeking an Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach to instruct students in the fundamentals of wrestling, strategy and training. This role emphasizes building discipline, sportsmanship and confidence within a safe, competitive environment.

Responsibilities include supervising practices, maintaining equipment, communicating with staff and parents, and developing targeted practice plans to improve individual and team performance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the fundamentals of the sport/activity.
• Knowledge of KSHSAA rules and USD 266 policies.
• Ability to communicate with tact and patience.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.
• Ability to develop action plans and analyze progress.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during scheduled practices.
• Inventory and maintain equipment and uniforms.
• Provide a safe, educational environment for practices and performances.
• Communicate effectively with the school office, media and parents.
• Attend practices and games with necessary equipment and resources.
• Develop and implement practice plans to improve individual and team performance.
• Motivate student-athletes to reach their full potential.
• Evaluate strengths/weaknesses and make strategic decisions.
• Complete all training required by KSDE and the district.
