PURPOSE
The Volleyball Coachis responsible forplanning, organizing, and directing the district’s interscholastic volleyball program. The primary purpose of this position is to instruct student‑athletes in the fundamental skills, rules, strategies, and team concepts of volleyball while promoting sportsmanship, personal growth, and academic successin accordance withdistrict policies and governing athletic association regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GEDrequired
College coursework or degree in education, physical education, or a related field preferred
Previousvolleyball coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred
Knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, skill development, and conditioning techniques
Completion of required coaching certifications andtraining coursesestablishedby the district and governing athletic association (e.g., PIAA), including concussion management, first aid, and CPR/AED

- Ability to instruct, motivate, and supervise student‑athletes

- Commitment to student safety, injury prevention, and proper technique

- Must complete required background checks and district‑mandated training
REPORTABILITY
The Volleyball Coach reports to the Athletic Director and Building Principal ordesigneeandoperateswithin the district’s athletic department structure.
EVALUATION
Performance is evaluated by the Athletic Director or designeein accordance withdistrict policies, procedures, and applicable agreements.
PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, organize, and conduct volleyball practices, matches, and skill development sessions
- Instruct student‑athletes in individual and team fundamentals, rules, and strategies of volleyball
- Promote good sportsmanship, character development, and adherence to team and school expectations
- Ensureappropriate supervisionof student‑athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities
- Develop and enforce team rules consistent with district and athletic department guidelines
- Monitor and support the academic eligibility of student‑athletes
- Ensure compliance with district policies and governing athletic association rules and regulations
- Communicate effectively with student‑athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic staff
- Assistwith equipment inventory, uniforms, and coordination of gymnasium and facility use
- Supervise assistant coaches, if applicable
- Emphasize safety, conditioning, proper technique, and injury prevention
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or designee

- Frequently required to stand, walk, run, and move about athletic facilities for extended periods

- Work is performed in indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, gyms, fields, tracks, and stadiums
- Exposure to varying weather conditions for outdoor sports
- Noise levels may range from moderate to loud during practices and competitions
- Interaction with students, parents/guardians, officials, staff, and community members is frequent
