Job summary

Coginchaug Regional High School in Regional School District 13 is seeking an Assistant Coach - Boys Outdoor Track Coach to work with student-athletes to develop skills and sportsmanship.

The position requires First Aid/CPR, Concussion Module Coaches Training Certificate, and a valid CT Coaching Certificate; reports to Athletic Director/Head Coach and collaborates with the Building Principal for program safety and success.

Qualifications

  • Certification in First Aid/CPR is required.
  • Concussion Module Coaches Training Certificate required.
  • Valid CT Coaching Certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent individual and team achievement in the sport involved.
  • Assists in planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in season.
  • Assists in recommending purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms, as appropriate.
  • Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
  • Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
  • Seeks to improve the overall quality of the program of the sport involved.
  • Supports and promotes the District's Core Ethical Values with students, colleagues and parents.
