Job summary

Newberg SD 29J is seeking an Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for Newberg High School in Oregon. You will support the head coach in managing the program, including off-season planning, tryouts, and practice schedules.

Responsibilities

Help manage off-season program, tryouts, and practice schedules.
Support the head coach in developing a strong program based on relationships and results.
Provide regular communication with parents and families.
Monitor student-athlete academic progress and facilitate support for eligibility.
Coordinate with other school sports and encourage cross-program participation.
Assist in developing and implementing an off-season athletics program.
Coordinate with local youth programs below the 9th grade level and engage community groups.
Work with local media and build relationships with community supporters.

Job Description

Description:Head JV Coach. Also assist at the Varsity level.

Help manage all aspects of the high school program including off-season program, tryouts, practice schedules and routines.
Support the head coach in development of a strong program, built on relationships and results.
Provide regular communication with parents/families.
Regularly track the academic progress of all student athletes in the program and facilitate necessary support systems to ensure their academic eligibility.
Cooperate with other school-sponsored sports and encourage athletes to compete in other programs.
Assist Head Coach in developing and implementing an off-season program for athletics.
Help coordinate with the local youth program below the 9th grade level.
Work with local media as needed and establish strong working relationships with community support groups.

Applicants should have experience as a coach at the high school level, or assistant coach at the college level.
