Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is seeking a coach-leader to oversee and enhance the athletic program for middle through high school athletes. You will coordinate program elements, plan staff responsibilities, and maintain strong ties with community organizations to foster student-athlete development.

You will evaluate coaches, develop skill sets in athletes, monitor academic progress, and uphold high standards of conduct while guiding athletes through the college recruiting

Qualifications

• Minimum: Previous head coaching experience or equivalent at a higher level.
• Meet OHSAA and CH-UH requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all programs (grades 7-12) within the athletic program.
• Plan and administer staff responsibilities, staff plans, seasonal plans, and scouting duties.
• Maintain liaison with community organizations related to the sport.
• Assist in ongoing evaluation of coaches.
• Develop athletes' skill sets.
• Monitor athletes' academic progress.
• Promote high academic and personal conduct standards.
• Guide athletes in college recruiting processes.

Overview

Within the framework of the entire athletic program, provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of his/her coaching area through coordination, planning, evaluation, and implementation of programs. To follow expectations set by the OHSAA, Cleveland Heights-University Heights Athletic Program, CH-UH School District, and the CH-UH District Coaches Handbook.

Job Summary

• Maintain liaison and active participation with other community organizations related to her/his sport.
• Assist in the ongoing evaluation of her/his coaches.
• Develop skill sets within the athletes.
• Monitor the academic progress of the athletes.
• Promote an atmosphere of high academic and personal conduct standards.
• Guide and assist athletes in the college recruiting process.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous head coaching experience or equivalent experience at a higher level.
• Meet OHSAA and CH-UH requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous college playing experience
• Previous high school playing experience
• Demonstrated successful head coaching experience
• Knowledge of NCAA and NAIA eligibility requirements
