Matanuska-Susitna Borough seeks a legal professional to assist in providing legal services to the Borough Assembly, the Borough Manager, and various departments. The role involves advising officials, representing the Borough in court, and drafting legal documents.
The ideal candidate will have a law degree, at least two years of legal experience, and must be a member of the Alaska Bar Association or eligible for reciprocity. A valid Alaska driver’s license and background check completion are required.
This position assists in the provision of legal services to the Borough Assembly, the Borough Manager, and all Borough departments, as well as assistance to the Borough Attorney.
Work is performed and duties are carried out in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Borough core values: Accountability, Customer Focus, Dedication, Integrity, Responsiveness and Teamwork.
This is a non-bargaining unit executive position.
T1 - T5 - DOE
Graduation from law school.
Two years of experience practicing law.
Current membership in the State of Alaska Bar Association, or ability to obtain membership by reciprocity within six (6) months of hire.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire, a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alaska for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) courses, ICs 100 and IS 700 within ninety days of hire and ICs 200 and IS 800 within one (1) year of hire.
Individuals who do not possess the minimum qualification listed above may be considered and/or hired at the established training rate.
