YAI promotes a person-centered approach by creating supports that cater to the specific needs of each person. Join our dynamic team teaching daily and independent living skills, providing individual and group counseling, and promoting community integration. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm for working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and a willingness to help with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as assisting with showering, toileting, grooming, laundry and housekeeping as necessary. ABIS works directly with people in their home, work, and daily life in varying capacities. An ABIS must have previously worked as a DSP, completed all the required trainings and demonstrated all the knowledge, skills and accountabilities of a Direct Service Professional Level three. The Asst. BIS position blends together the DSP role and the clinical leadership role. This includes, but not limited to, the provision of direct counseling, implementation of each individual’s treatment plan, training in ADL skills, assistance with personal care, medical, dietary, social, sexual, recreational, financial, habilitative and other needs within the program.* To train staff, which includes, but is not limited to, using the EMOE training system to ensure that all clinical interventions are properly implemented, to communicate clinical rationales to the staff, to provide staff with both formal and informal feedback, and role model at all times appropriate tone, implementing of habilitative and behavioral programming, and appropriate data collection techniques* Role Model use of person-centered philosophy and use of person-centered tools* To develop written, individualized habilitative plans in accordance with the agency philosophy, as determined by individual need.* To conduct assessments – both behavioral and habilitative via formal means (written questionnaires, rating scales, baseline data, etc.) and informal (observations), under the supervision of the BIS.* To design effective data collection systems that allows progress to be monitored. To monitor the data collection, ensure that the data is totaled and summarized on a monthly basis and that new data sheets are accessible to staff at the beginning of each month.* To oversee/maintain the completion of all required paperwork, including monthlies, Person Centered materials, and ensure that all pertinent information is included on psychiatric anecdotals.* To provide the appropriate therapeutically documented level of an individual’s supervision to ensure and protect the individual’s health/safety and well-being.
