Job description

Position Information

Assistant Baseball Coach is responsible for assisting with all aspects of an NCAA Division I Baseball program, including, but not limited to, the identification and recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; supporting the academic progress of student-athletes; preparing and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition; fostering the academic, athletic, and personal growth of student-athletes; organizing team and staff travel arrangements; facilitating administrative duties and paperwork; managing the distribution and ordering of team equipment and supplies; coordinating and administering special baseball events and representing the sports program as needed in association with promoting and fundraising for the program. Intercollegiate Athletics is also recruiting for an Assistant Baseball Coach 2, recruitment #37699483. Candidates are encouraged to apply to both positions, as three (3) positions will be filled. The full salary range for the Assistant Baseball Coach 3 is $64,800.00 - $113,400.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Requirements
Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training with a college-level program.

Experience Requirements

4 - 7 years of related experience.

Minimum Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational and team leadership skills to work effectively with athletic participants.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making;, be an effective problem solver and effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Specialized knowledge of the team sport or activity and demonstrated technical expertise in coaching principles.
  • Leadership skills to mentor and develop athletes.
  • Current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the affiliated athletic conference, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) or National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the campus adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
  • Demonstrated effective problem solving and communication skills, verbally and in writing.
