The role requires working closely with the project team, adhering to safety practices, and ensuring schedules and equipment usage are managed effectively on site in Intracoastal City / Abbeville area.

• Help ensure Safe Work Practices are followed.
• Support Foreman in coordinating with the Project Team to execute projects.
• Help adhere to project schedules.
• Assist in managing machinery and equipment usage.
• Mitigate and resolve emerging problems.
• Perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Promote participation in the Take 5 safety program.

Assistant Barge Foreman Job Description

The Assistant Foreman/Straw Boss helps the Foreman supervise and coordinate the work and personnel on a project.

Essential Functions

• Assist in planning, implementing, and managing tasks in accordance with project priorities and goals.


• Assist in ensuring all Safe Work Practices are utilized and enforced.


• Assist the Foreman in working closely with the Project Team in planning, executing, and completing projects.


• Helps to adhere to project schedules.


• Assist in managing and guiding the use of machinery and equipment.


• Mitigate and resolve emerging problems and issues.


• Able to perform job in a safe and expedient manner.


• Participate in and promote utilization of the BBI Take 5 Program.

Competencies

• Ability to work both in groups and individually to meet goals and to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers and team members.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.


• Ability to climb and descent multiple flights of stairs.


• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
