Job summary

Piggly Wiggly - Lancaster WI is seeking a Bakery Assistant Manager to support the department manager in all bakery operations. Open shifts include Morning, Day, and Evening; full-time position with duties spanning customer service, product packaging, and restocking.

The role requires 1–2 years in bakery operations or retail, a High School diploma, and basic computer, reading, writing, and math skills. The incumbent will assist in training staff and ensuring safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, provide advice, take orders, and package baked goods; ensure displays are restocked.
• Follow all regulations and company policies on bakery operations, safety, and sanitation.
• Help achieve sales and gross profit goals; minimize shrink through proper handling and storage of products.
• Take customer orders for cakes and specialty bakery items.
• Process paperwork for the Bakery Department and assist in training bakery associates.
• Maintain supply levels and fulfill department orders; take direction from the bakery manager when absent.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include greeting customers, providing advice, taking orders, and packaging baked goods along with ensuring items on display are continually restocked.
• Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation
• Achieve financial goals such as sales and gross profit maximization
• Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
• Take customer orders accurately for cakes and other specialty bakery products
• Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
• Complete all necessary paperwork relating to the Bakery Department
• Assist the bakery manager in the training and development of Bakery associates
• Ensure supply levels are at acceptable levels, fulfill orders as needed
• Take direction from the bakery manager and act in her or his place when absent
