Job summary

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe in Layton, Utah, is seeking a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker who shares a passion for artisan breads and warm customer service. In this role you will join a dynamic team with opportunities to learn the craft of pastry and bread baking while delivering high-quality products.

As part of the team you will follow recipes, assist in bread production from 11 am to 7 pm, and help maintain strict food-safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of following recipes and attention to detail to create breads.
• Schedule includes afternoons/evenings and Sundays (store schedule).
• Willing to train the right person; large-scale baking experience preferred.
• Compliance with local, state and federal food handling & sanitation standards.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bread Baker in baking artisan, sweet and seasonal breads.
• Lift up to 50 lbs, stand, mix and handle dough as part of daily tasks.
• Follow recipes and maintain high product quality and appearance.
• Support customer service and ensure food safety standards.

Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is currently looking for a talented part-time Assistant Bread Baker. We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about food quality, customer service, community & as we are! In the role of Assistant Bread Baker, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team who will offer a unique menu selection of artisan, sweet, & seasonal breads all baked with honest, whole ingredients.

A successful Assistant Bread Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe must possess:

• Proven track record of demonstrating superhero abilities in the kitchen from following recipes to paying close attention to additional details to create one-of-a-kind breads. Lifting large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies all weighing 50 lbs. plus is an important task of this role - the ability to stand, lift, and mix is also a daily requirement
• The ability to work through change & be able to be flexible all while keeping a close eye on what's cooking!
• The schedule availability to work afternoons/nights. Bread Baking shifts start around 11 am - 7 pm, plus a shift on Sunday (when the store is closed). During holiday seasons the Bread Baking team schedule may flex into overnight shifts too

A successful Assistant Bread Baker at Kneaders Bakery & Cafe need to be qualified with:

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right person!)
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, & federal regulations for food handler & sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus!
