Kneaders Bakery & Cafe is seeking a part-time Assistant Bread Baker. The ideal candidate will be passionate about bread quality, customer service, and community. Must have afternoon/evening availability; Saturdays off.

The role involves working with a dynamic team to bake artisan, sweet, and seasonal breads made with honest ingredients. The position emphasizes shift coverage starting around 11 am and includes opportunities for growth in pastry and bread baking.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in baking bread; ability to lift 50 lbs dough and supplies.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and work afternoons/evenings.
• Flexibility to work holiday shifts and Sundays.
• Must be 18+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Follow bread recipes to produce breads and batches as required.
• Assist with bread baking shifts 11 am–7 pm, and Sundays when the store is closed.
• Maintain cleanliness and adherence to food safety standards.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team in a fast-paced bakery environment.

Required Qualifications

• Proven track record of demonstrating superhero abilities in the kitchen from following recipes to paying close attention to additional details to create one-of-a-kind breads. Lifting large amounts of dough, flour, and other supplies all weighing 50 lbs. or more.
• Requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required
• The ability to work through change & be able to be flexible all while keeping a close eye on what's cooking!
• The schedule availability to work afternoons/nights. Bread Baking shifts start around 11 am - 7 pm, plus a shift on Sunday (when the store is closed). During holiday seasons the Bread Baking team schedule may flex into overnight shifts too

Additional Qualifications

• Large-scale baking/pastry experience (preferred but not required; we are willing to train the right person!)
• Attentiveness to compliance with local, state, & federal regulations for food handler & sanitation standards
• Formal baking/pastry education is a bonus!
• Requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift, with limited opportunities for sitting. Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation is required
