Qualifications

  • Must be a member of the Maine Bar in good standing.
  • One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in criminal law preferred.
  • Trial experience and strong writing skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prosecute referrals from the Fraud, Investigation and Recovery Unit of DHHS for welfare fraud across the state.
  • Provide legal advice and work with DHHS investigators to develop welfare fraud cases.
  • Handle criminal prosecutions in the Unified Criminal Docket and appellate work before the Law Court.
