Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive athletic training services for varsity student‑athletes. You will handle injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return‑to‑play planning under designated physicians’ supervision.

You will cover practices, home contests, and travel, coordinating emergency transportation and on‑site medical response while mentoring athletic training students and assistants and supporting inventory

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 1 year experience required.
  • PA licensure and BOC certification required.
  • Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive athletic training services for varsity student‑athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return‑to‑play planning.
  • Cover practices, home contests, and travel with athletic teams; coordinate on‑site emergency response.
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation and preventative programs; maintain confidential medical records.
  • Serve as a preceptor/mentor to athletic training students and assistants; assist with inventory and emergency planning.

Job DetailsThe Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; providing medical coverage for practices and competitions; and maintaining accurate and confidential medical records.
