Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX is seeking an athletic trainer to support varsity sports. You will assist with injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation under the head athletic trainer and team physician.
Responsibilities include keeping medical records, covering home and away events, supervising students, organizing equipment, and coordinating care during practices and games. A Bachelor's degree and BOC certification are required, with licensure by hire.

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
This position assists the head trainer in all areas of Sports Medicine, including but not limited to assisting with team coverage during practice sessions, team competitions at home and away, pre-game and post-game treatments, and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in athletic training, sports administration, or related field. No prior experience required.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work under stress. Ability to comprehend technical aspects of communications equipment. Communication skills. Keyboarding skills.
Certified in the Board of Certification (BOC). Texas athletic trainer license or temporary permit by date of hire.
Must be able to work beyond normal working hours, weekends and holidays. Must be able to travel.
