Job summary

Nelson County Schools in Bardstown, Kentucky is seeking an Assistant Athletic Coach for the OKH West Girls' Basketball program. The position is seasonal and reports to the Head Coach/Student Leadership Director or Coordinator/Principal; starting immediately.

The role requires promoting sports within the school and community, planning and supervising practices, and assisting coaches across one or more sports while teaching fundamentals and sportsmanship.

Qualifications

• Any combination equivalent to a high school diploma, GED, or progress toward GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• NFHS Coach ED Training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in promoting sports in the school and community.
• Assist in planning the assigned athletic program.
• Assist in organizing and supervising practices.
• Assist coaches on one or more sports.
• Teach fundamental skills, team play, and game rules.
• Model sportsmanship and self-control; respect officials.
• Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
