Job summary

The University of Miami seeks an Assoc. Provost, Online Learning to coordinate online academic programs, guiding curriculum development and policy improvement to advance strategic goals.

Collaborating with university leaders and external partners, the role will drive online student success, program reviews, and compliance while mentoring staff and ensuring robust governance and budget stewardship.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant field required.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program expert on online academic programs, assessment, and accreditation.
• Help implement strategic plan goals and objectives related to online programming.
• Direct and implement online educational initiatives for assigned division(s).
• Oversee student advisement and promote recruitment, retention, and diversity of student body and faculty.
• Form partnerships and represent the University to external entities to develop scholarship and cooperative opportunities.
• Monitor online program review and ensure program compliance with accreditation requirements.
• Prepare department budget and monitor resource allocation.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and mentorship to department staff and faculty.
• Ensure internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements, and monitors controls.

The Assoc. Provost, Online Learning coordinates online academic programs, including guiding, developing, and continuously improving curricula and policies. The incumbent works with University leaders and external stakeholders to promote online student success in the furtherance of the institution’s strategic academic goals.
