Join the leadership team of one of the nation's premier emergencymedicine training programs. The Johns Hopkins Emergency MedicineResidency is seeking an innovative educator to serve as Assistantor Associate Program Director beginning July 1, 2027.
You’ll help lead a four-year, ACGME-accredited program (12 residents/year) with a five-decade track record of training EM leaders, working alongside the Program Director, two other APDs, a program manager, and a program coordinator. Responsibilitiesinclude curriculum development, residency recruitment, PGYclass-specific mentorship and remediation, and overalladministration of our four-year program, which culminates inFocused Advanced Specialty Training (FAST) in the final year. We’reespecially interested in candidates who share our commitment totrainee well-being – you’d help lead an active Resident Well-beingProgram and contribute to ongoing efforts to expand wellnessprogramming for residents and faculty alike. You’ll have dedicatedadministrative time (percent effort commensurate with role, up to40% FTE) and join our Teaching College, a faculty group dedicatedto educational scholarship and cross-departmental teachinginitiatives.
Residents and faculty – more than 50 board-certified attendings –provide care across three Baltimore-area EDs: The Johns HopkinsHospital, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and Johns HopkinsHoward County Medical Center.
Academic rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, commensurate withexperience. The position offers a competitive salary and an outstanding benefits package.
The base salary range is$196,000-230,000 per year. This salary range reflects base pay, commensurate with faculty rank and years of experience, but does not reflect all components of the Department of Emergency Medicine’s faculty compensation program including pay from participation in the Department’s robust incentive compensationprograms. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from this salary range. Please contact the department for full compensation details.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximumsalaries for this position and is based on Johns HopkinsUniversity's good faith belief at the time of posting. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas,laboratories, working with research subjects, or involvingcommunity contact requires documentation of immune status againstRubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella(chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may includedocumentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratorytesting. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases areordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those candidates who provide results of blood tests or immunizationdocumentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
